I love everything that is retro and vintage. I am all for technology advancement but if I can just retain everything that we used to have back then, I will go for it. Things are so simpler back then. I am kind of iffy with some of he stuff being released right now because I am so bad with directions so yes, I’d rather have the stuff that we used to have back then. I want to be specific with this: I love the phones that we were using in years gone by. The Origins Of Precious Moments

The origins of Precious Moments started with Mr. Sam Butcher who in his young age was very creative. He gifted his loved ones and friends with greeting cards and posters with children who have teardrop shaped eyes. His mother who was very supportive of his art urged him to take formal lessons in art and was able to bag a scholarship at Berkeley’s Arts and Crafts College.

Armed with his improved skills, together with Bill Biel, he put up a stationery company with Sam’s drawings on all the cards and posters. The first business is called Jonathan & David. They marketed their products on as Christian and inspirational items and were immediately swarmed with orders for the novelty products.

The products caught the attention of the Enesco Corporation headed by Mr. Gene Friedman who proposed a figurine collection based on the artwork called “Love One Another”. The master sculptor who brought the artwork to life is Mr. Fujiokasan. It was a touching moment that Sam was brought to tears.

The figurines instantly became a hit. The twenty one new creations were out in the market in 1978. In 2005 Mr. Butcher organized the Precious Moments, Inc. He expanded his lines and created themes.

In the US, the home of precious momentscreations is at Carthage, Missouri which has a park and chapel and visited by thousands every year. Another is in Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines which has a flower garden and the oriental home of Mr. Butcher.
